Michael Pegg

Home: Norwich, England

Age: 20

Weight: 150lb

Height: 5’ 11”

Mutant Factor Abilities: Elemental - Manipulation of electricity

 Institute Biographical Profile:

Born to a middle class family in a small city in England things couldn’t have been more normal, loving parents, sister, even a dog but appearances can be deceiving.  From the age of 7 up until 10 his father had abused Michael. Contrary to most modern thinking this hadn’t fucked him up emotionally in anyway, infact it made his bond to his father stronger.

Michael was something of a loner at school with only a few close friends, keen at sports (mostly athletics) and seemed to have a natural flair for sciences but an inability to do the higher mathematics needed to really excel in the subjects.

He was destined to lead a normal life, go to college and university, get a 2nd class degree then a job in some government lab testing food for pesticides but fate and his parents twisted genes brought this to an abrupt halt.

At the age of 15 Michael was struck by lightning, not in the normal way while outside, oh no, Michael was struck while in the classroom of his school; the electricity had arched from the tube lighting above. While Michael lay convulsing on the floor the rest of the pupils in the class broke into pandemonium as sparks and ball lightning started to come from all electrical appliances in the room.

His mutant ability to manipulate electricity had kicked in big time right in the middle of Biology class.

Things changed for Michael after that, the word Mutie took on a new more venomous meaning, he was shunned at school, and even his friends were making excuses not to talk to him. Worse was yet to come, the whole family was branded Mutant Scum and had to move due to harassment.

The next couple of years were difficult as Michael’s awakening abilities surfaced. The most noticeable was the fact that he continually generated an Electro- static field around himself. This caused problems as he constantly caused everything around him to get charged up, he even took to wearing rubber gloves all the time just so he didn’t constantly get electrical shocks. He finally found out that wearing a rubber suit over the majority of his body could block this static field completely.  This enabled him to at least interact with other people without them constantly having static sparking from clothes and their hair standing on end.

At the age of 18 he received a surprise scholarship to a special school in the US, eventually accepting the offer to help control his abilities he applied for a Students visa and enrolled.

His increasing control of his abilities have so far enabled him to “call” electricity from any electrical source as ball lighting, short out electrical equipment and even disrupt the electrical impulses in the bodies of insects (he has never tried it on anything larger as all the insects he tried it on died).

Institute Biological Profile:

Michael is still in good shape, his interest in athletics has left him in good standing. He also finds that intense exercise decreases the electrostatic field around himself (all be it temporarily), he has much higher than average synaptic impulses running through his body, what long term effect this may have on his muscle/brain tissue has yet to be seen. It has been theorised that Michael could eventually exhibit total control over all external electricity in his general vicinity.

It appears that that while Michael can control electricity he has never exhibited any extra degree of resistance to it, infect in tests he appears to be something of a lightning rod attracting electricity. Maybe his abilities are an adaptation for self-preservation.

 Institute Psychological Profile:

Michael’s upbringing has left him with a somewhat skewed look at close relationships but saying that his emotional maturity is mostly well developed (he has a father figure complex). The only real problem he has developed are to do with forming close friends, something he never was overly good at to start but when his friends turned away from him after the emergence of his mutation it made it harder to open himself up to anyone else. He is quite secure in his belief of his own self worth and has a life motto of “ I don’t care what you do as long as it doesn’t harm anyone else”.
